MS Dhoni – naam hi kaafi hai! Sirf ek cricketer nahi, balki poori generation ke liye inspiration ban chuke hain. India ke sabse successful captains mein se ek, Dhoni ne ICC ke sabhi major tournaments jeet kar history rachi. Unhone na sirf trophies jeeti, balki Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, aur Ravindra Jadeja jaise stars ko bhi groom kiya.
Aaj bhale hi Thala international cricket se retire ho chuke hain, lekin IPL 2025 mein wo ab bhi Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ke liye khelenge – aur wahi purani charm ke saath.
CSK ke rising speedster Matheesha Pathirana ne recently ek documentary mein Dhoni ke mentorship ko lekar emotional tribute diya. Unhone kaha ki unke liye Dhoni sirf captain nahi, balki ek father figure hain.
“Dhoni is like my father, because of the support and the mentorship and the guidance he is giving me when I’m in CSK,” Pathirana ne kaha. “It’s very similar to what my father did in my home. That’s why I consider Dhoni my cricketing father.”
Yehi nahi, Pathirana ki maa ne bhi Dhoni ko ‘god-like’ bataya aur unka shukriya ada kiya for being such a great influence in her son’s life. Unhone kaha, “No words about Dhoni. Really [like] god. Matheesha, how he respects [his] father, like that [he shows] respect to Dhoni.”
Pathirana ne IPL 2025 mein shandar shuruaat ki hai with two-wicket hauls in his first two matches. Unhone apni pehli mulakat Dhoni se yaad karte hue kaha ki unka dream poora ho gaya tha.
As CSK prepares for their upcoming clash against Delhi Capitals, yeh emotional connect between Dhoni and his young players clearly shows ki CSK sirf ek team nahi, ek parivaar hai.
